STAMFORD, CT, MAY 29, 2025 – First County Advisors, the Wealth Management division of First County Bank, hosted an appraisal-themed event featuring expert appraiser Nicholas Dawes from PBS’ Antiques Roadshow and Heritage Auctions. Joining Nicholas at the event were fellow Heritage Auction appraisers Vera Prather – Fine Jewelry Specialist, and Fine Art Specialist, Julia Matthiesen.

The event, held at the Italian Center in Stamford, provided clients and the community with an opportunity to bring valuables, heirlooms, and other personal treasures for a complimentary professional evaluation by the industry experts, while gaining insight on the techniques and mystique of appraising artifacts, antiques, and cherished collectibles.

“Dealing with First County Advisors is an absolute pleasure. The staff are highly professional and good humored, and this event was an opportunity to meet the bank’s extended family of clients, who are equally delightful. Heritage is always at your service,” said Nicholas Dawes, Senior Vice President, Heritage Auctions.

The evening was an engaging opportunity for First County Advisors to highlight their expertise in Estate Settlement. The group has considerable experience in managing the settlement of estates of high-net-worth individuals and families, including special assets such as real estate, artwork, jewelry, collectibles, and unusual assets.

Currently, First County Advisors is finalizing the management of a client estate valued at $16 million, which includes an extraordinary personal collection of Russian works of art, paintings, fine jewelry, and a significant number of valued Japanese prints, to name a few. Heritage Auctions sold several pieces from this collection, some of which garnered an auction record.

“First County Advisors offers a full suite of services including investment management, financial planning, and estate settlement tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. One of the greatest privileges we have in this profession is helping ensure that our clients’ final wishes are honored with dignity, care, and precision. We hold our fiduciary responsibility to the highest standard and know how to get the job done with professionalism, expertise, and compassion,” said Scott Kapusta, Senior Vice President, Head of Wealth Management for First County Advisors.
