First County Bank Stamford Employees Donate to The Undies Project

First County Bank is committed to supporting its local community and part of its mission is to serve the non-profit sector of Lower Fairfield County.

One way they achieve this is through employee participation. “First County Bank employees raise money for charities through “Jeans Day.” For the privilege of wearing jeans to work one day a month bank employees vote on which non profit will receive their donations,” said Rey Giallongo, chairman and CEO of First County Bank. “The Undies Project was selected to help those affected by personal hardships. We are proud of our employees helping others through The Undies Project.”

Through the generosity of their employees they raised $1,500. “With their donation they have helped put a smile on the faces of those for whom underwear is a necessity not a luxury. This basic need is often taken for granted. Underwear not only provides hygiene and physical comfort but also dignity and self esteem,” said Laura Delaflor.

Lucy Langley added, “The Undies Project is very honored to have been selected as this quarters recipient and is thankful to have the support of such generous people and the organization they work for”.

The Undies Project was set up in November 2015 by Lucy Langley and Laura Delaflor to provide new underwear to men, women and children to improve their lives, and is a registered 501(c)(3) charity based in Cos Cob, CT.
