Get to know Diego Gomez, Teller Supervisor at our Shippan-Stamford branch and Digital Ambassador.
Tell us a little about yourself!
Born in Guatemala, I came to the United States when I was 10 years old and grew up here. I love traveling and discovering new places and I’ll never say no to a new adventure. I’m a huge bull riding fan (yes, I said bull riding), and enjoy horseback riding as well.
What is your secret talent you’d like to share so we know more about you?
One secret talent I have is dancing, which I have been doing since I was 5 years old. If a party has a dance floor, that’s where you’ll find me. I’ll never forget the one time my parents had to literally drag me off the dance floor, because it was time to go home.
More of a hobby than a secret talent is that I love collecting hats. My grandfather was a big hat fanatic and after his passing I took on his passion. So, if you’re looking to surprise me with a gift that I’ll remember, bring me a hat of your liking.
What is your favorite part of your role with First County Bank?
My favorite part of my role as a Teller Supervisor and Digital Ambassador at First County Bank is getting to know my customers. Whether they are first time customers or customers who have been banking with us for years, developing that relationship with them is important to me, while enabling me to do my job better.
I also like the opportunity to participate in bank sponsored events, while networking and attending them with my coworkers.
Do you have a favorite First County Bank moment? This can be any moment at the Bank that has made an impact on your life.
My favorite moment at First County Bank was participating in the Stamford Downtown Balloon parade that occurs before Thanksgiving. I’ve always watched the parade from the sidewalk every year since I was little, and to actually participate in the parade, made this moment very special.
What can Customers come to you for?
Customers can come to me for almost everything. Anything from setting up a personal checking or savings account, to supporting the needs of your small business, or helping you with our digital tools like mobile check deposit, I am your guy! And, being bilingual, I can assist many of our Spanish-speaking customers, too.
Anything else you’d like to say about you or your experience at the Bank?
Working at First County Bank has been a really great experience for me. I look forward to coming to work every day and collaborating with the awesome team we have at the Shippan branch. I truly recommend First County Bank, not only as a great place to Bank, but also as a great place to work and build a career.
