First County Bank Spotlight – Joshua Seput

Get to know Joshua, Teller Supervisor and Digital Ambassador at our Summer Street – Stamford Branch.

Tell us a little about yourself!

A little about me, I was born in Greenwich but grew up in Stamford, the next town over. I am very family-oriented and will do anything for them. I have helped raise my cousin since she was very young, along with my younger brother, and am currently taking care of my grandmother. I am very close with my immediate family who have all had a big impact on my life – including my mom (can’t forget about mom).

I am very fortunate to be part of the First County Bank team. I have been with the bank for about 7 years now, starting as a part-time teller, then full-time teller, moving up to my current role as Teller Supervisor, working out of our Summer Street branch in Stamford.

Do you have a secret talent, favorite hobby, or pastime?

Not sure if it’s a secret talent, but I love to cook. Every day I broaden my culinary knowledge by watching cooking videos on YouTube or flipping through cookbooks. I find cooking to be a very fun and useful skill to have. Thanks to my grandmother, she has helped me a lot in this aspect by showing me recipes that have been in our family for generations.

When I have some downtime, I love reading, particularly Stephen King books or  any kind of dystopian novel. I also enjoy travelling, especially going to Peru where I spent many summers with family. I am hoping one day I can make it to see Machu Picchu.  When the weather warms up, I spend a lot of time getting outside to play soccer with my family and friends. Last but not least, I am into collecting different dress ties and staying on top of current trends in men’s fashion; you can say I like to shop.

What is your favorite part of your role with First County Bank?

My favorite part of my role as Teller Supervisor is being able to provide my knowledge and experience to the branch tellers, so they have the proper solution to solve things that they once saw as a hurdle or problem.  Through ongoing training, I enable my tellers to be more confident and capable employees.  I also enjoy supporting our Branch Managers by seeing how I can help alleviate their workload, enabling them to dedicate more time to the needs of their customers.

Do you have a favorite First County Bank moment? This can be any moment at the Bank that has made an impact on your life.

I would have to say that my favorite moments are when I can catch up with my regular customers when they come into my branch. Although it’s just a brief conversation while I am assisting them with their transactions, these interactions help me develop more of a relationship with my customers, getting to know them better and making their daily banking a little more personal.

What can Customers come to you for?

My customers can come to me for anything. Whether it’s to open a CD with our latest rates, if they need a checking account for themselves or their business, or if they need assistance navigating our mobile app, I can tackle it all while providing solutions for their specific banking needs and financial goals.
