Using First County Bank’s Online Banking Payment Center is a convenient way to manage and pay your rent, utilities, credit cards and other monthly bills. Paying your bills safely online involves making good choices. When you are navigating First County Bank’s online bill payment services we recommend you follow the security tips below.

Security Tips

  • Do not use a public computer: If you are using a computer to which the public has
access fraudsters can easily install malware that can collect your user ID and password.
  • Do not use a public Wi-Fi network: All it takes is a moderately tech-savvy criminal and a low-cost scanner to pluck your personal information out of thin air.
  • Keep your browser up-to-date: No matter what browser you are using, make sure you keep it updated. All browsers are regularly updated to address security and performance issues. Also, be sure that the update connection is secure. You should see a secure padlock on your browser that tells you your information is encrypted. First County Bank utilizes a URL (web address) that begins with “https” as this signifies a secure connection.
  • Use anti-virus/anti-malware: When using your personal computer to access the Internet, be sure that you are running current anti-virus and anti-malware software.
  • Use strong passwords: Secure your information with a strong password and change your password regularly. A strong password should contain uppercase and lowercase alpha characters (but no words or names) and numeric characters, and is at least eight (8) characters long. Use a special character as well.
  • Don’t click on links: Do not pay bills from a link in an email. These links can lead you to fake websites that capture your information when you log in using your ID and password. First County Bank will never send an email linking you to submit personal information on the Online Banking Payment Center.
  • Set up alerts: Text and e-mail alerts inform you when account activity occurs. You can easily set up alerts for your First County Bank accounts through the Service Center in Online Banking.
  • Log out: Always log out of your First County Bank Online Banking to prevent anyone from accessing it when you leave your computer.
